Annual Patient Reunion

The 2005 ABMT Patient Reunion, held June 11th, was attended by over 200 people. It was a great day of honoring survivors, sharing stories, and celebrating successes. Dr. Gwynn Long presented current information about bone marrow transplant – what is being done now and where the research is headed. The highlight of the day was the first time meeting of transplant patient Anne DeDecker and her unrelated donor Robert Nugent. Please enjoy some of the pictures from the event:

One of the most enriching, rewarding and moving moments of our patient reunions is the patient and caregiver testimonials. Patients and their families have an opportunity to share their memories about the transplant process and experiences at Duke. Some of these patient perspectives have been collected on video.
